Dave Min is an Assistant Professor at the UC Irvine School of Law and a nationally recognized expert on financial markets regulation, banking law, and real estate finance. Before coming to UCI, he was a policy director at the Center for American Progress, focusing on financial markets and macroeconomic policy. Min began his career as an Enforcement Division attorney at the Securities and Exchange Commission, and has also served as a senior policy advisor for Sen. Charles Schumer and the Joint Economic Committee of Congress. In 2018, Professor Min ran against Rep. Mimi Walters (R-CA) in California's 45th Congressional District, in the heart of Orange County. He is now a candidate for California State Senate in the 37th Senate District.
